Following this introduction to the idea of RP Squads, there will be a list of all currently recognized RPSs.  If you would like to create a new RPS, please read the information here and respond to THIS THREAD accordingly.  New RP Squads that have at least three active members will get recognized, and have a section of the forums created that is dedicated and exclusive to that RPS.

Bleeding Rose

RPSs are meant to be "grass-roots," guild member initiated, collaborative groups.  They are meant to encourage interaction especially between and among non-officer guild members.  They are not to be confused with in-game squads that follow the chain of command.  They are for members who want to have a shared RP background for their characters, and are to be a tool for furthering character and plot development.  They are about building your IDENTITY.

Role-Playing Squads have nothing to do with the chain of command (and never will).  The CoC is implemented to make certain that we can efficiently slaughter Order (without mercy) on the battle field of the game.

Role-Playing Squads are for groups of our members to get to know each other better - to promote a greater since of identity - to provide small groups of friends a tool through which to tell their story, as a sub-part of the larger guild lore - and to create a far richer and more fun role-playing environment within our guild.

Note: If you are the "Founder" of a RP Squad, that does not make you the "Leader" of the RP Squad.  What this really entails is just making you the #1 cheerleader for the group.  You encourage others to join.  You encourage members to be active.  You try to initiate group conversations about the group's history / lore / ongoing story.

It doesn't mean you are in charge... because RPSs should be non-hierarchical.

With regards to the website, however, you will be at the head of the RPS usergroup, and that just means you can invite other guildies into that usergroup... which is what gives them access to the section of our forums that is exclusive for your RPS.

Candle List of Recognized RP Squads Candle

The Bloody Fist
A group of chaos chosens that were originally Khornate Berserkers, whom were drawn to the teachings of UL-ASC with the promise of getting more power and spilling more blood.  These Khornate Berskers are now posing as Chosens of Tzeentch, so they can partake in the WARHOST that is the focus of Warhammer Online.
Point of Contact:  Asarikox Requis

 The Shadows of Arabay
Members of the UL-ASC who remember their past lives with the Legion, dating back to their lives in Ancient Nehekhara.  They may have been Mortuary Priests, or served within the armies of Settra.  If you like the tomb kings lore, this is a good place for you!
Point of Contact: Asarikox Requis

 Blood Avarice
Power-hungry and blood-thirsty Dark Elves in the... employment of the Legion. For a druchii would not willingly ally theirself with those of a lesser race unless it were to offer something to them in return.  Their goals are simple; to use the mobilizing Chaos and Orc tribes, and perhaps with a  subtle enough hand, the Legion itself, into achieving the Avarice's own needs.
Point of Contact:  Asarikox Requis

The Cult of Corruption (media group)
The Cult of Corruption is more than a role-playing squad. It is the team of artists within our guild that contribute their talents to creative works of destruction! Ideally - this is our guild's ARTIST THINK TANK.
Point of Contact:  Asarikox Requis

 Requis Hunters
Everyone has tangled emotions, dwelling inside like boiling potions of anger and fury. Yet, we are pulled on strings like puppets towards uncertain end, with little control over our internal passions and desires. Everyone has a Requis, a deep governing monster, we just have to find it.  This is the RPS for the power hungry.
Point of Contact:  Asarikox Requis

 The Culling Blade
The Instrument of the Dark Lords, the Culling Blade was formed to carry out assignments handed down to them directly from the Dark Lords.  Comprised of elite members of all races, this group will be responsible for furthering the goals of the Anti-Sanctus Chaotica and the Dark Lords that lead it.  "The Sword of the Legion."
Point of Contact:  Asarikox Requis

Da Green Paf
Waking from a blow to the head from a dwarven hammer, Gorlik heard the voices of Gork and Mork in his head. They commanded him to form a brotherhood of greenskins to get the wayward greenskins back on the true path, the green path. They also ordered him to find the green grail, an artifact of much power to help spread the WAAAGH!. Wot is dis green grail? We doesn't know, but sum of da Night Gobbos knows sumfin. As members of da brudderhood, our duty is ta find da green grail and spread da WAAAGH ta all our greenskin brudders.
Point of Contact: Gorlik

Aegis Of Agony
A loyal section of warriors devoted to the protection of all other guildmates. They use thier strategy and tactics to control battlepoints, protect the dark lords, and shield the legion itself. Followers of this group can be of any race and of any class as long as defending is thier mindset be it by a shield or the quick end of a blade.
Point of Contact: Darcros

The Cult of Mahk
Jachin is (was) obsessed with killing the Phoenix King, but then came to realize that it wouldn't end there. Another would eventually rise to replace him and nothing would change. He fell into dispair and had an encounter with Noir. Noir had an amazingly lucid moment and gave Jachin purpose. Suddenly Jachin realized how powerful Noir really was. Up to that point he thought of him (and all the Dark Lords) as mortals pretending to be Gods, but realized that they are all Gods taking the form of mortals. When Jachin asked Noir about this, his response was "Sometimes a duck is just a duck" which Jachin first thought meant that he was reading too much into it, and that perhaps he was wrong. Then he turned to Noir and replied "But sometimes it is something else" to which Noir grinned and then asked what color he thought "free will" was, which he took as a direction to start researching things, which has spawned the last two sermons. Jachin still questions why they are doing this and has decided that Noir has the answers, but in order to understand the answers he must figure out what the questions are. He has become absolutely fanatical in his research into what has become The Codex Noir. While Noir tends to be... rather eccentric... Jachin is very stioc and serious when it comes to his station. Now others have come to join his cause.
Point of Contact: Jachin

The Unscribes
The Unscribes are a group of members who document events for the good of the ASC. They write of stories for those who are too busy killing to put pen to paper. These stories are used as a referance for the Dark Lords to learn how thier members act or events play out without having to be there. The Unscribes make it thier sworn duty to document battles they have been to.
Point of Contact: Darcros Painkeeper

Crimson Thirst
Sylvania is a land of myth and legend, tales of Vampires running through the night run rampant, the citizens are superstitious and afraid...perfect for those that stalk the night. The Crimson Thirst seeks to unite the vampires of the empire lands and bring the undead surge back to the gates of Aldorf, where they will exhume Vlad Von Carstein and hopefully resurrect him. The short term goals are simple, provide a place for vampires to gather, provide sanctuary to those vampires that are being hunted, and foremost...feast upon the enemies of the ASC. ooc description: It was brought to my attention by several members that a RPS based around vampires would be a good thing around here, The vampire counts are what got me into warhammer to begin with and while vampires play a big roll here as it is, i thought something told from the other side of things would add flavor to the guild.

 Your Idea Here

    * What other sorts of RP Squads should we "sanction" and include in this list?  Give us some ideas!!

Bleeding Rose

You can role-play while working in-game, within the game mechanics, to try and control territory, gain equipment and kill order.  Those three things are absolutely the type of activities that any of our RP Squads could be involved with from an RP perspective, for any number of reasons.

Why wouldn't RP Squads be active in game?  It doesn't make any sense.

An RP Squad being in game does not have to mean that the Squad as a unit is doing something as a unit.

If Darcros is in the Aegis of Agony on our forums, he is still in the Aegis of Agony when he is out on the battle-field.  The people who make up the RP Squad ARE the RP Squad... So, of course RP Squads are in game.

Your RP Squad helps to define your in and out of game IDENTITY.

Could some members of Blood Avarice end up in a warband led by an Odji-Mortis that is in Da Green Paf?  Sure!  And why not?  The RP reasons would dig down into the very same reasons that the members of the Blood Avarice had for joining (infiltrating?) the ASC in the first place!

Maybe this group of X members of the Aegis of Agony are in a warband led by someone in the Culling Blade... they recognize that the Odji-Mortis who is leading the warband, though in the Culling Blade, is still the one calling the shots...  But, that doesn't some how make them non-members of the Aegis of Agony... they can still Role Play as though that is who they are... it is their... IDENTITY.

That group could ask the Odji-Mortis in charge of the warband to put them all into one party... then, that party of the Aegis of Agony, could be the one that stays behind at the Keep, with a Dark Lord, while the rest of the warband is hitting objectives... to watch for any recapture attempts.

With a bit of creative thinking, our command and leadership structure will be maintained, while allowing all members to get more into their characters, by using RP Squads to help flesh out their in-game IDENTITY.

Enjoy.... and be merciless!
