Born 2500 years before the sundering, Noir was the son of a brilliant general in Malekith's forces, the captain's post he had been granted due to his father's influence did not suit him in the least. He was seen as far too unstable and arrogant by his soldiers, resulting in not a few open revolts on the battlefield. Morale in his company was infamously low, a situation only aggravated by his insisting on the "Right of First Night" with any wives and/or concubines his soldiers took for themselves.
His true talent and passion lay within his all-but secret involvement with the Cult of Slaanesh, a society into which he was indoctrinated as a youth by his mother. His father Gris disapproved of this, naturally, but was far too doting of a husband to deny his wife the joy of sharing in the communion of Slaanesh with her only son.
Noir eventually left his military post altogether and openly declared to his family his intentions to train as a sorcerer, despite the stigma still attached to this post by those loyal to Malekith--this was centuries ago, mind you. His father was outraged, but Noir's mother convinced her husband Gris that, instead of executing his son, which would bring disgrace to their family name once the other Houses found out about Noir's actions leading to his death, the family ought to send him off to the temple to lead a "religious" life.
Therein, Noir, who was by this time extremely well-versed in the Slaaneshi art of seduction and manipulation, managed to "persuade" the sorceresses with whom he came into contact to teach him to harness the Winds of Dhar.
As his training advanced, it became obvious that Noir was nothing short of a natural, and he was both feared and adored by those who knew of his secret life. Even those oblivious to his studies found something about him both unsettling and ungodly attractive.
After many years went by, the seductive Noir had numerous affairs with each of his sisters. The younger of the sisters, Amaranth, realized that her brother was cheating on her with her sister, and the two of them decided to avenge themselves upon him. They told their family head Gris that Noir had raped them both in a frenzy after returning from a Slaaneshi festival. Gris believed them, naturally, and Noir was forced to flee for his life, living for centuries as an exile in the Naggarothi wilderness.
Eventually, Noir wandered into human territory and was captured by Settra's troops, where the founding of the ASC began. He was tortured by the vicious Kutulu until one fateful day he overheard the confession of Cyn Athalui, that mankind's darker thoughts were influencing the fabric of chaos. He then pledged his own knowledge of the Dhar to assist in the founding of a new order, a melding of Dark Magic and Chaos that would become the Anti-Sanctus Chaotica. Founded by Kutulu, Noir, Ar'achna/Archael and Cyn's own daughter Aladriel, they would go on to reshape the face of the world.
Quite a while later, Noir encountered Ar'achna and Kutulu once again. After having weakened himself substantially in battle with them due to a case of mistaken identity, the daemon Mahk, which had been stalking the sorcerer for some time, seized the opportunity and took possession of him, devouring Noir's soul whole and taking the druchii's ancient body for his own.
To this day, Mahk rules in Noir's name. Only those few who know the truth of his identity refer to him by his true name.
Age: Older enough to know better, young enough not to give a damn
Occupation: Possessing others, Dark Lording, masquerading as a sorcerer, going slowly insane, harassing his subordinates and peers alike, seduction of all things animal, vegetable or mineral
Mahk was born in the Warp itself back in some bygone age, merely a reaction to a unique sequence of thoughts and emotions as felt by someone or some people group at some point. Since his birth, he has taken to wandering about on the outskirts of the Warp and the World of Being. When he finally grew strong enough to enter into our world, he took his first host, realizing how much easier it was to roam around when he could sit comfortably within the insulation of a living body. He has since taken many hosts, influencing many lives for the sake of his own amusement.
Mahk displays certain, shall we say, interests that have lead to speculation about him being Slaaneshi in origin, though his overall goals seem to be more Tzeentchian in nature.
After having possessed Noir, Mahk finds himself in a unique situation: the sorcerer he took hold of provides him with a nearly endless influx of dark energy from the magic his host is capable of performing; to a daemon, this is like living in the middle of a 24-hour buffet. He finds himself growing constantly stronger, and yet he feels increasingly less lucid, increasingly less like himself with every passing hour. Apparently, there is some manner of side effect to his choice of hosts.
