Meeb and Jachin stalked down the hallways leading to the Dark Lord Machiavelli Noir’s chambers.  The Druchii leading the way, the Orc compelled to follow.  At first Meeb had been rather skeptical about the meaning of Noir’s message, but Mahk’s First Prophet had assured the Greenskin that it had been an invitation.  One, he then declared, that was not optional. 

“All one must do is focus, sift through any and all connections to logical speech that could help you interpret the Dark Lord’s wisdom,” Jachin had explained, “and manipulate all that does not fall into place correctly to a more favorable position.”

When Meeb shot a confused glance his tutor’s way Jachin continued, “I shall help you acquire the skills, young one.  Your mind is still fresh for molding, but we must be careful.  To proceed at to quick of a pace could provoke unwanted effects on your psyche.” The Dark Elf paused, and then added, “You are a tool at the moment, one that I will employ until you have proved yourself fully worthy.”

They were silent the rest of the way to Noir’s room, until, before opening the door, Jachin stopped Meeb by putting his hand on the massive Greenskin’s chest and said, “You must remember, our Lord is the embodiment of the wisdom we seek.  Hang on his every word, flatter him into speaking more freely, and then file what he says away for analysis.”
