I once shared naive values similar to those of the High Elves untill my wife and daughter were taken from me.
Our lifestyles were rather... unorthodox, we barely used our magics and preferred not to if it wasn't necessary, we liked to live in a lower manner than other elves, and we prefered the company of humans for their unpredicatble nature and i loved to listen to their hopes and dreams.
One day I was coming from the nearby village after selling the horses that we raised to make a living and nothing seemed out of the ordinary, our daughter ran to me and i caught her and let her ride on my back to the stables while she told me of the activities she had been doing to pass the time while I was at the market. as I entered my home and asked my wife what we might cook for dinner that night, i saw a shadow dart behind out stables through our kitchen window.
I thought it was one of our friends that was always coming in to the stable to spook me and thought I'd surprise him like I always have. when I walked in though, i found that it was a few thieves looking to steal my most prized horse. I made it back to the house and told my wife to use a force baricade on the doors. thieves were in the stables and may be after more than horses.
I ran to our bedroom and grabbed my sword. When I returned, the thieves had gotten around the house and in the front door before my wife could finish placing the barier and they had her on the ground, when she screamed the sound brought my daughter out of her room.
I would have to kill them quickly before they could get a sign of resistance out. there were three of them, the one holding my wife was easy enough to dispatch, the next was able to fight back and the third was just out of my reach when the second was dead.
When I followed him out I saw that there were twenty men in this band and knew what i would have to do. I turned to my family and told them that when there was an opening they would have to run as fast as possible and never look back. I knew that i would never see their bright faces on this plane again and braced myself to charge the men.
When i went into the clearing I saw that these men were strong enough to fight one that had even helped banish the dark elves from Ulthuan. My magic had little effect on them and i had to use my sword to kill them. i had killed three and was getting tired, if i was to give my family a chance i would have to cast a force wave of such power that any mana that i had remaining would be drained and i would be at their mercy.
As i began to cast the spell they tried to pile in on me, but one saw it coming and stepped back. After I finished the spell the men were on their backs and would be immobile for about half an hour, plenty of time for my family to get away.
As I saw them rush past me a man darted in and stunned them. he was a mage of some kind for he was right in front of me in a flash and had impaled me with my own sword so I was sitting in an upright position. As the world darkenned, i saw him stab my daughter's heart and shred my wife's garments and take her.
I invoked a god that is only reserved for last resorts that moment.
I awoke to find Khaine looking at me with disdain.
"Why would one so weak as you call upon the god of murder?"
i looked upon the lord of murder in horror, I bred horses al my life. Why did I expect him to give me power now?
"I could not save them them. please help me Khaine lord of murder. i promise I shall make these mortals pay dearly for overstepping this line."
"We will see, kill the man and recieve my judgement"
     "Yes my lord"
I awoke and the man still had my wife in his hands. I tried to get up but was help to the ground by the sword, he headr me struggling and looked upon me with fear alone. I pulled the sword out of my gullet and stood. As I stood, he held up my wife and threatened to kill her if I came any closer. However, as i looked ih her eyes, all signs of life were gone. Khain had given her the mercy of death.
In a fit of rage, I remembered a spell that was reserved for those that had lost all rights to life and cast it upon him. As he screamed in pain and horror at the sights of his rotting limbs, I laughed at his feeble attempts to stop the process. When the spell had run it's course, only a pile of dust that remained from his armor remained.
"You have pleased me Aran, you shall live. Destroy the feeble humans, or never enter paradise"
     "Yes my lord"
As I wondered how I could achieve this end, i remembered a rumor in town about a coalition of Elves, Chaos, and Orcs gathering under one banner. I would find them and join them, surely one would understand my situation and motions would be set in place that meant the end of man. i knew this was what Khain willed me to do.
I made funeral Pyres for my wife and daughter without mourning. We would meet again one day in paradise, but I had to fulfill my promise to Khaine before I could join them.

Interesting read. I liked the "not so evil at birth" approach to your character.

Your format is also interesting. Perhaps future "entires" in a journal of sorts perhaps?

As I wandered the countryside, wondering where to find this legion. I decided that there would have to be bases on all fronts, and decided to start my search in Ulthuan.
when i reached my homeland I knew I could approach the dark elves in my current attire and decided to follow a company of high elves to the warfront at a distance for days untill they were ambushed by dark elves. I had to make a decision quickly, was it wiser to use what forbidden magics I knew, or pray that my master would see fit for the high elves to win and loot the clothes of the dark elves when they moved on?
I elected to reveal my presence and unleashed all my magics upon the high elves untill the magic caused a fearsom backlash that knocked me unconscious.
As I regained consciousness I found that i was lying on a cold stone floor with a witch elf eyeing me with cruel delight.
"Why would one such as you help us?" She asked
     "I seek the champion Kutulu"
Her expression changed to annoyance and if i wasn't mistaken, fear
"Why do you want to meet him?"
"I heard from the humans that he leads a coalition of Elves, Chaos, and Orcs. I thought he would understand me and help me purge the human infestation."
     "Your enemy willingly helped you?"
"They weren't my enemies then." my eyes burned as tears came to the surface.
"Really now? when did they become an "infestation" then?"
Her eyes brightenned when she knew she had found a weakness
     "..."
"Answer quickly; i might be reduced to my more advanced methods of interrogation, and you will beg for death before i'm done."
I tired of these questions that were leading nowhere, she was toying with me, and all I could do was play her game.
"They took my family" my voice barely passed my lips.
     "What?"
"They took my family and my life! They run pampant; killing, raping, and stealing one another's livelihood! They must be stopped!"
"You remind me of my father, He knew chaos was growing more powerful and decided to destroy the root of it all, humans, after he heard that my mother and I were killed by invading chaos. He led a great crusade to destroy them and would have succeeded if I had not turned him over to the humans. He escaped and his torturer and I led him to a trap that led to him starving to death alone in a cave. Chaos was once human, why should they not die?"
"I have watched the legions of chaos for a long time now. They know their place and live to serve their gods. Man lives only to serve his own desires!"
"You say this and yet it is your desire to see them all die."
     "It is not mine alone."
"Who else shares this ambition of yours?" she was about to laugh at my my hypocrisy.
"It is the will of Khaine! and none shall stand in my way of paradise!" I screamed.
With that, she left for hours. when she returned, she was followed by two behemoths and a sorceror that obviously neglected his body's needs in order to focus on his studies of forbidden magics.
"Welcome to the legion, forget all other masters. You serve the cause of gaining power and achieving your ambitions. Let nothing stop you."
"What is your name?" the sorceror asked impatiently.
     "Aran Nightslayer."
My redemption is at hand. I shall soon see you again when I kill the last human, I promise everything shall be as it used to when that time comes.

First - the second installment is even better than the first.  A great read!

This stuff is just to help clarify:

Quote from: "feltheridan"
he leads a coalition of Elves, Chaos, and Orcs.

Kutulu co-leads the UL:ASC.  Each member of the Council of Dark Lords is equally a leader.

Quote from: "feltheridan"
He led a great crusade to destroy them and would have succeeded if I had not turned him over to the humans. He escaped and his torturer and I led him to a trap that led to him starving to death alone in a cave.

Cyn didn't so much lead a crusade to wipe out the humans, as tried to do it single handedly by poisoning the river than ran through the birthplace of human civilization.  Also, something like 2,500 years go by from the time Cyn escapes prison to the time Aladriel traps him in a cave to die.

Quote from: "feltheridan"
You serve the cause of gaining power and achieving your ambitions.

This is just a great line!!!!!

It could use a few more references to me. Other than that, it is enjoyable. I see you have considered our discussion from earlier as well. I am filled with sugary warmth.
