Even the trees whispered of the coming storm.  They were huddled in a small circle around the fire, careful to keep their distance from the Dread General and Soul Eater’s volatile disks.  The four Dark Lords had given Shadddow, Sordin, Zenshen, Eliphas, Jezvin, and Spikeynorman the honor of raiding a small Empire Elite outpost located on the edge of a dark and extremely expensive forest.  Spikey could barely keep his mouth shut, his irrepressible excitement due to the Witch Hunter who had stumbled over a fallen log; unfortunately for him, right into Spikey’s guard post.  For this was Spikey’s first mission, along with Eliphas and Jezvin.  Sordin kept their morale up with random snide comments combined with wearing the Witch Hunters ridiculous hat upon his own head.  Even I chuckled a little behind my mask.  But aside from this, Shadddow and Zenshen appeared somber and focused, staring into the fire as if it held their fate.  Zenshen broke the silence: “Tonight, sir?”  I glanced at Sordin whose eyes had ignited under his own golden face plate.
One quick glance at him was all it took to see my own thoughts mirrored in how he gripped his staff.  He could feel it too.  The sky itself had been darkening, the wind and leaves together whipped about, confused and bothered.  There was power to be had upon this night; they could sense it in the air.  I couldn’t help but smirk, “Yes Zenshen, there could be no other night.”  Everyone but Sordin looked at each other.  Instead he stared deep into the fire; his eyes appeared to be a little brighter.
By midnight they were on the move.  Sordin and I led the squad silent as ghosts, coasting above the fallen leaves and dead logs.  The wind howled so loud it covered the heavy footsteps of Eliphas’ massive Chosen boots which in any other situation would have sounded much like death tolls.  Jezvin appeared restless, the first Shaman to be requested specifically by the Dark Lords themselves.  Having one other orc in his vicinity was not exactly his preference.  Eliphas on the other hand had used such selfless and vicious tactics in his few encounters with the Empire that he had gained much favor with Dark Lord Kutulu, who was eager to see his full potential.  Spikey had so obsessively wished to prove himself that his militant fervor had begun to worry even those of the Druchii and Chaos soldiers of the Anti-Sanctus Chaotica.  This was to be an experience for the three up and coming soldiers, to hone their skills and prove their ability.  Sordin and I knew better, this was a test for all of them.
They found themselves at the edge of the forest looking down upon a medium sized encampment surrounded by crudely built walls and fortifications.  In the center one could see a monstrous fire surrounded by other, smaller fires.  I made sure my voice was barely audible.  “If they’ve been sending scouts, then they know we’re here.”  Spikey fiddled with his sword.  “This also means that this place is important enough to have extra protection.”  I looked straight at Sordin and asked to him more than the rest: “Are you ready?”  And with a resounding “YES SIR!” we moved down the slope.
Halfway down we were spotted by the drowsy Knights guarding the entrance doors.  Before they could stand Sordin and I had turned them into our own personal torches as the lightning coursed through their armor.  The noise was enough to alert the rest of the camp who were hardly prepared for what came next.  Spikey’s orcish battle cry, quickly joined in by Eliphas’ own Chosen death shouts, would have been enough to kill the weak of mind.  Brandishing their swords, shields, and axes they plowed straight through the weak wooden walls.  Zenshen joined the fray soon followed by Jezvin, mercilessly using his WAAAGH to inflict pain upon the bewildered Knights, of which there were many.  Sordin and I moved effortlessly through the rubble knowing very well what was to come.  It was obvious really, all the Knights and Witch Hunters falling before the onslaught of their companions must have been recently picked from farmers and craftsmen.  They had little skill for the ones who even had time to properly arm themselves.  While Zenshen was taking two Knights at once, Spikey was barreling through huts, murdering whomever he could find inside.  Eliphas and Jezvin were slaughtering the bewildered With Hunters like they were sacrifices to the Chaos gods themselves.
Sordin and I on the other hand had been watching as the Headmaster of the Bright Wizard College himself walked out from the inferno in the center of the camp.  Sordin scoffed; “His pride burns as bright as his hair.”  I nodded ever so slightly.  “Agreed, he allowed his pawns to die before making a move.  I do not believe he can handle all of us.”  Not surprisingly, three more Bright Wizards appeared out of the smaller fires and began to circle the two Magus.  I snickered, “This will be fun…. REGROUP!”  At once, Spikey and Eliphas took the wings behind Sordin and I while Zenshen guarded the rear, keeping Jezvin at the center.  It was Master Fawkes who addressed Sordin and I first: “Fools, did you honestly believe that your excuses for life could overcome the pure power that which is fire?”  Sordin laughed, causing even Jezvin to tremble.  “Do YOU know who WE are?”  I felt the chaos energies surge beneath my armor, “We have been sent by The Unholy Legions of Anti-Sanctus Chaotica, and you are nothing more than an errand.  ATTACK!”  And almost in slow motion, the scene unfolded like a well oiled machine.  Spikey, Zenshen, and Eliphas ran towards their respective Bright Wizard Apprentices at full speed.  Jezvin let loose a barrage of energy so thick that the obviously unprepared opponents were distracted from their casting.  Fawkes, who had begun casting immediately, sent two streams of fire towards Sordin and I.  Sordin who had expected this, deflected the fire straight into the ground with a flick of his wrist while I focused on summoning horrors who were slowly emerging from the bodies of the fallen Witch Hunters.
Eliphas’ mage who was slightly quicker than the other two had recovered from Jezvin’s attack and had just enough time to dodge the two axes Eliphas had thrown while on the run.  Unfortunately for him it was too late, by the time he could perform another spell Eliphas had slammed head on to the Bright Wizard’s skull, fatally head butting him to the ground.  Zenshen and Spikey on the other hand had blubbering fools for opponents.  Zenshen’s had attempted to surround himself with a shield of fire, which did not stop him from finding the main artery of the caster’s neck with his blades.  Spikey’s made had thought it wise to try and stop him by spewing lava at his feet, which, due to the incredible size of his shield, failed miserably.  Spikey cleaved him clean in half.  The horrors on the other hand had exploded on impact from the fire that had spread like wildfire across the ground, leaving Sordin and I surrounded by a wall of flame.  It was all Jezvin could do to stop the inferno from catching.  “THOUGHTS?!?!”, I shouted to Sordin.  “PLAN B!” came the response.  Immediately we slammed our staves into the ground in front of us.  Together in unison, we began chanting words that were even unfamiliar to Eliphas’ Chosen ears.  The ground itself cracked and split, lightning and purple fire erupted in all directions, and with one final noise as if the world itself was being torn asunder, a ravine exploded in front of the two Magus, knocking Master Fawkes clear off his pyre and into the purple flames below him.
While he frantically searched for his staff Sordin and I took advantage of the moment and flew to intercept him.  Our disks shot out spiny tentacles and grabbed an ankle each before the flames of chaos could begin their mutations.  They lifted him upside down so that finally his eyes were level with ours.  “NOOOO! THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE!”  His screams merely fueled the hunger in me.  “We are Chaos, anything is possible.”  And with that Sordin squeezed his sickly golden gauntlet tight around his neck while I plunged my own into his still beating heart.  Together we sucked every bit of power out of his soul, leaving him a frail and bitter shell.  We left him there to rot after the fire in his eyes had been extinguished.  Sordin and I stood silently and shaking as we let this new energy seep into our veins.  Finally Sordin picked up the dead Master’s staff, “We should bring this to the Dark Lords, they may wish to investigate it’s properties.”
Things had changed.  The Chosen had new heads on his shoulders, Jezvin no longer appeared skittish but instead proud and wise.  The fear in their eyes demonstrated that Sordin and I, too, looked different… but no questions were asked.  “We are victorious on this morning, we must report immediately” I said to the ambitious eyes before me.  As we turned to leave Zenshen whispered: “Sir, but won’t they Empire triple their forces after what we’ve just done?”  I snickered malevolently.  “Let the come”, I said, “Let them come.”
