HEAR ME, SEKH!

The voice came from everywhere and nowhere at the same time, accompanied by glorious blue flames in every direction. Complete darkness peeked in through the flickering of the flames, and it was hard to tell where the fire ended -- if it ended -- and where the darkness began. Did the flames continue on forever, or would they simply follow you if you tried to move? Sekh did not move, save to drop down to one knee. Rather than burning him, the flames seemed to breath new life into him as he gave the Raven God his answer. "Your chosen hears, my Lord."

YOUR BROTHER SERVES NEW LORDS. WHY IS YOUR BLADE NOT COVERED IN HIS BLOOD?

"He serves them and they serve him, my Lord." In truth, Daiis served no one; his only goals were bloodlust and war, and Sekh was the only person in the world safe from his brother's wrath. Daiis had taken up with this new guild only because he could use them. They had let him join only because they could use him. "They are powerful allies in their own right and we will use them to do your work," Sekh continued, "but ultimately they are fools who believe in nothing but power." For that reason, Sekh had not followed his brother into the guild. His loyalties were to the Raven God. He had served fools once before; he would not repeat the mistake.

INDEED? FAITH HAS GIVEN YOU WISDOM TO SEE YOUR BROTHER'S PURPOSE IN MY PLANS, BUT YOUR PRIDE HAS BLINDED YOU TO THE POWER THAT LIES BEFORE YOU. YOU WILL JOIN THE ANTI-SANCTUS CHAOTICA.

"I cannot, my Lord." Dangerous words. 'No' was not something you said to the Raven God. "Their lust for power knows no limits. They seek to use you as a tool and eventually surpass you, my Lord. They must --"

SILENCE!

The volume of the voice nearly cost him his hearing, and the flames bypassed his armor and briefly seared his flesh. Sekh did not flinch. It was the Raven God's place to punish those who displeased him.

THEY SERVE ME MORE THAN THEY OR YOU KNOW. THEIR COMMAND IS MY MY COMMAND. TO SERVE THEM IS TO SERVE ME. TO DISOBEY THEM. . .

Sekh did not need the picture to be made any clearer. "It will be as you say, my Lord. Your chosen shall serve."

THEN RISE, AND OBEY!

The flames winked out, and the darkness vanished, revealing Nordland. Daiis was inspecting the weapons of a nearby merchant. Sekh walked up behind him and laid a hand on his shoulder, whispering in his ear. "I must speak with the leaders of your new friends." Daiis would have seized anyone else firmly by the throat for such a trespass, but instead he just grinned, and paid the merchant for a new axe.

As the two of them walked out of the camp, Daiis began laughing softly and continued until it became a roar.

"What amuses you this time?" Sekh inquired.

"Tzeentch told me you would join us. . . and he told me of what is to come afterwards."

"And what is that?"

Daiis' grin belonged on a wolf about to strike, "Now the fun begins, little brother."

Sekh understood. Daiis only ever looked like that for one reason, and one reason only. The world was about to get a little bloodier, and he and Daiis would be at the heart of it.
