Bayeux of Elbisar (commonly known as Lizzard) was born as Bayeux Elvenoir in the dark mists of the Shadowlands near the old hamlet of Elbisar.  Bayeux was the end result of a plot to recruit his father – Alain Elvenoir (a lesser-known High Elf Captain) – into the ranks of the invading Dark Elven army.
As Alain Elvenoir’s regiment was rescuing the town of Elbisar from a very long and bloody Dark Elven attack, Bayeux’s mother – Krystal (a Witch Elf) – ran into a local mansion and disguised herself as the heiress and sole survivor of a rich Elven family of Elbisar.  Using the Dark Arts, Krystal was able to charm Alain into a love trance and convinced him to marry her.  It was also not long before Alain had fallen victim to the Corruption of the Dark Arts and started plotting to hand over Elbisar to the Dark Elf Army General – Vesarin Darkbow.
Unfortunately, for all concerned, the arrival of a very powerful Witch Hunter nicknamed Hounder (Kurt Gressmack) to the Shadowlands and, more specifically, to the hamlet of Elbisar prevented the completion of Alain and Krystal’s plans.  The Hounder ambushed and dispatched poor Alain as a heretic and almost succeeded in killing Krystal and her unborn child (Bayeux).  As a result of the attack, poor Krystal was burned beyond recognition but still managed to run and hide in the dark woods surrounding Elbisar.
Krystal was barely alive when Bayeux’s maternal grandmother (Kryssalia) finally found her in the woods.  Kryssalia noticing that there was a new life within her daughter’s womb, and realizing that it could be a rare mixture of a ‘corrupted’ High Elf and Witch Dark Elf, quickly pulled Bayeux out before offering Krystal a quick death to end her suffering. (Khaine be praised!)
Bayeux was raised by his maternal grandmother who took him to a 'Black Ark' floating near the forest west of Elbisar and that was his earliest recollection of family.  Kryssalia knew that, in order for Bayeux to grow in the shadow and the harmony of Chaos, she had to fuel the anger and desire for revenge in him from a very early age so every day she would tell him about how the nasty Empire Witch Hunter and the treacherous High Elves had killed his mother and father.  Also from a very early age, she exposed him to the Dark Arts and realized that Bayeux had the ‘gift’ just like his mother Krystal.  The Dark Arts were not something to learn and control but rather something familiar and comforting to him.  The intricate details of summoning and spell casting felt as second nature and part of his being.
His nickname of Lizzard came as a result of his peculiar gift to communicate with reptiles, from a very early age, as he ran through the dark woods of the Shadowlands hoping to run into Hounder the Witch Hunter to avenge the death of his family…
As Bayeux grew in both body and ‘soul darkness’, his desire for revenge made him very good at Sorcery and he was able to control and cast with extreme ease.  Bayeux used his fury as the fuel to generate energy and his boundless wrath and hate felt good as his dark soul grew ever closer to Khaine’s path.  Vesarin Darkbow - the old Dark Elves General - happily accepted him into his Shadowlands army and commanded him to raze all High Elves townships and hamlets in the region. By then, folks in the war-stricken Shadowlands knew him as the angry sorcerer named Lizzard.
Lizzard had engaged the High Elves in battles all over the Blighted Isle, and in doing so, he found out about a Destruction regiment which inspired both fear and respect from foes and friends. He asked around and found out that it was ruled by a very powerful guild named Anti-Sanctus Chaotica.  By using a scrying bowl, made from the skull of an Empire witch hunter and, for reflection, using the bloody guts of a Dwarven engineer, he read the names of Kutulu, Noir, A’rachna and Alandriel.  He quickly contacted them and begged them to use his anger for Chaos so he could gain more power…the rest is history.
