Okay, so yesterday (Thursday the 14th of August) I recieved the results from my A-Levels. You'll all obviously be pleased to know I did reasonably well, attaining the necessary points to get into to my first choice of University. But I DID just scrape in...I needed a Grade A in English and two B's. (320 points)

I got 4 Grade B's in each of my subjects. Business Studies, Combined English, Law and General Studies. (Three B's would go towards University - 300 points) I also recieved a Merit in my Advanced Extension Award in English (which is what got me into my University really, giving me another 20 points!). That award is designed for students achieving above and beyond A-Level. Although I did in fact only get a B in English - it was one exam and one grade that let me down  Sad or else I would have owned.

I also found out that in each A Level, I was only ever a few points away from a Grade A. If only I had pushed myself that little farther. Damnit. Just FOUR tiny marks in my Business Studies. Pissed! So obviously, I am quite gutted, even though I did really well generally. It seems I will remain a mediochre student until I kick ass in my degree.

So now I'm into Lancaster University, which is brilliant because it's quite a prestigious University. I'm just waiting for a confirmation letter through the Post and I'm on my way after my Gap Year. All that remains then is for dear Sordin to join me.

Here is Lancaster University for you to take a look at if you wish:

Well done, getting in by the skin of your teeth still gets you in though. Law, business, english what is it you hope to pursue as a career in the future? Four A levels aswell, you must be quite smart because all of us only did the three...could have easily done four with the amount of free time we had but there you go.

I'm actually going to be a Teacher. After my English degree I'm taking a Postgrad in Education, I can take it all the way up to a Masters degree so I might do that, depending on my financial situation at the time.

In my Gap Year I'm doing Voluntary work in a primary school for experience and extra credit.

I'm not THAT clever, but Winstanley college (being one of the best in the UK) makes you do an extra one anyway. Only some Universities actually accept General Studies.

Sordin is the clever one, he's doing five A levels this year. He's picked up Philosophy. *dies*

What University are you going to? And I hope you did well in your A levels!

I have heard this good news, and once again I levy my congratulations toward you and yours. May we follow the path of the teacher proudly and ruthlessly. Ever noticed that hardly any teachers are named Ruth? That is a demonstration of how ruthless they are.

Great job Laurana!  Evil Rock

Are you on scholarships or student loans to pay off tution? Sounds very expensive with a prestigious school and all but with those awesome grades your getting it must be worth it.

My family income is over the grant allowance so I have to pay it all myself by taking out Student loans. Sucks a bit.

But I think because I'm becoming a teacher, the government will pay a certain amount off for every year that I'm a teacher.

I hope so anyway... In any case I don't have pay it off until I'm earning over a certain amount p/a.

I have a year to work up a load of spare cash to help me...now all I need is a job...

I am going to be attending the University of Bolton, Games art course so you, me and sordin could totally hang out and stuff. Paint the town red...

....blooooood red  No Mercy!

For A levels I did double award Art and ICT(plus all those extra little subjects that give you extra cred), got double As in the art but got 3 marks off a C in ICT, didn't really like it and they wouldn't mark it up....rage.

Sordin is doing five A levels, wow rock it sordin you smart little pirate  Pirate

From the 29th of September onwards, it's the standard three year degree course.
